Introduction

Do you want to gain professional client-side coding skills and have trouble knowing where to start?

These self-paced classes, originally created by Ryan Hanau while teaching at San Francisco State University, could be just what you need.

So, what are you waiting for?

HTML Class

The Web has become essential to all aspects of our lives today. Despite the proliferation of WYSIWYG Web page editors, a thorough knowledge of how to “hand code” HTML is still required. This class offers such an opportunity to learn and covers advanced table creation, frames, forms, the Meta tag, image maps, and a brief introduction to CSS and Javascript programming.

CSS Class

Cascading Style Sheets introduces a vast new world of Web page design possibility and has become a “must have” knowledge for all Web designers. Using plenty of exercises, we'll study CSS programming syntax and structure, including an overview of common CSS properties. We'll cover classes, the cascade, the units of measurement, font sizes, and inheritance.

JavaScript Class

To make a Web site truly dynamic and interactive, you need to learn JavaScript. This hands-on workshop will teach you everything you need to know to write your own JavaScript as well as understand those written by others. Along the way, you will learn the basics of computer programming and some HTML tricks you might not already know.
